Nouveau boîtier US en carbone moulé

Presentation

Get the most out of your surfing experience with our new Slate V2!

In 2023, we started from scratch to envision the Slate V2. Our goal was to offer a board entirely dedicated to the practice of surf foiling. A board without compromises: ultra-performing yet accessible.

The key to performance is confidence! With that in mind, we designed the Slate V2 to be a comfortable board, both paddling and underfoot, instilling confidence in you in all conditions. The Slate V2 will be your perfect ally for rapid progression in surf foiling, as well as for boosting your performance.

Your surfing sensations will be heightened with the Slate V2. The connection between the rider and the foil is excellent, and the support is precise, thanks to its excellent rigidity enabled by its full carbon construction infused under vacuum, a technique borrowed from the aerospace industry.

The Slate V2 comes with a brand new molded carbon US box, developed by Takoon. Stiffer, longer, and equipped with dual entries: this innovation is truly a future standard in the foil industry!

The Slate V2 is intended for intermediate to advanced riders who desire an accessible board while allowing for tight turns reminiscent of surfing. It's not a board for beginners but rather for riders seeking performance. For your first waves in surf foiling, the Slate SW would be more suitable. Developed for surf foiling, you can also use the Slate V2 in pump foiling. Available in sizes ranging from 4’2 with 25L to 4’8 with 35L, you can choose the Slate V2 that suits your size.

With the Slate V2, say goodbye to water infiltrations! The board is durable thanks to its hydrophobic foam core and carbon construction. These are materials that will withstand the ups and downs of a board's life and will be perfectly repairable. Your Slate V2 will take you far and last a long time!

On this Slate V2, we also offer unique customization options in the serial board industry: custom colors, as well as dual-color boards with visible carbon.

The Slate V2 is "made in Europe," and we are proud to produce all our rigid boards in Portugal, in Peniche. Our local production, close to our engineers and our shaper, allows us to be extremely efficient in R&D. We can quickly design, produce, and test. We have chosen to invest almost exclusively in the innovation and quality of our boards, which explains our direct sales system: we control all our costs, and you benefit from very competitive prices.

The Slate V2 is intended for intermediate and advanced level riders. It will allow you to boost your performance but above all to practice a radical and committed surf foil. It is not a board for beginners, but rather for riders looking for performance. For your first surf foil waves, the Slate SW will be more suitable. The Slate V2, light and not bulky, is also the board you need to practice pumpfoil.

Available in 4 sizes from the 4'2 of 25L to the 4'8 of 35L, you can choose the Slate V2 adapted to your size. For intermediate to advanced riders we recommend: the 4'2 25L for the lightest riders -60kg; the Slate V2 4'4 of 28L for riders between 60 and 75kg; the 4'6 of 30L for wingfoilers from 75 to 85kg; and finally the Slate V2 4'8 of 35L for the heaviest riders from 85 to 100kg. If you hesitate between two sizes, think about your level of practice. The more comfortable you are, the more you will be able to orient yourself on a smaller board. Otherwise, opt for comfort in your progression by choosing a board with a little more bedding.

The shape of the Slate V2 has been optimized to facilitate paddling and surfing. Its outline is inspired by surfboards, with a refined pin tail that makes the Slate V2 a carving machine. This pin tail allows the Slate V2 to maintain length for comfortable paddling without compromising the board's maneuverability. The beveled rails of the Slate V2 allow you to engage your turns even more, providing excellent rebound on touchdowns and optimal grip.

The Slate V2 offers efficient and comfortable paddling with its rocker specifically designed for prone foiling. Its nose is rounded but not excessive, striking the perfect balance between glide during paddling and compactness while flying. For better glide and easier takeoff, its hull is meticulously designed to boost water flow.

We were able to achieve this ideal shape for the Slate V2 thanks to our high-quality full carbon construction, which provides unmatched rigidity and durability in the market. The magic happens in our own factory in Peniche, Portugal, where we utilize our vacuum infusion carbon technology.

Being committed to environmental protection, we carefully select our raw materials. We consider the proximity and sourcing of our suppliers while prioritizing cutting-edge quality.

Our Slate V2 is manufactured using our vacuum infusion technique in our factory in Portugal, located in Peniche, a renowned surf destination in Europe. At Takoon, we constantly challenge our production methods to create increasingly sustainable boards, while minimizing our impact on the environment. We take pride in contributing to the local economy and making long-term commitments to make our industry more environmentally responsible.

No more decompression valves, no more infiltrations. Our Slate V2 is built around a foam core of our own Takoon design. We developed this hydrophobic foam to achieve unparalleled mechanical properties and compression rates that we couldn't find elsewhere on the market. The core of our boards is made of this resistant, flexible foam that doesn't absorb water, resulting in a durable and repairable board!

To achieve an optimal resin-to-fiber ratio and provide our boards with unmatched strength and responsiveness, our Slate V2 is fully covered in full carbon using vacuum infusion. At Takoon, we have chosen to use this infusion technique, which is perfectly suited for high-end products, with a focus on performance and quality.

Used by the aerospace, aviation, and advanced automotive industries, carbon vacuum resin infusion represents the future of our industry's evolution. In summary, this technique involves encapsulating the foam core and fibers in a vacuum bag, removing the air from the bag to create a vacuum, and applying strong pressure on the board to ensure perfect layer bonding. Then, tubes deliver resin into the bag, which is drawn through the carbon fiber and infuses it. Any excess resin is immediately removed by the vacuum pump, and the process can be stopped.

The result? Approximately 60% reduction in excess resin compared to hand lamination. In the process, there is no waste of resin, and a predictable amount is used for each board.

This vacuum infusion technique offers many advantages over open lamination techniques: we achieve a better resin-to-fiber ratio, the amount of resin used is reduced thanks to pre-compacted vacuumed fabric, the operator is exposed to fewer harmful emissions and benefits from a cleaner working environment, and, of course, it results in stronger and lighter boards.

This full carbon vacuum infusion construction also propels the performance of the Slate V2. Thanks to its weight and rigidity, you get a lively, responsive board that precisely responds to your movements. It is also a durable construction that can withstand the challenges of a board's life and is easily repairable. With proper maintenance, you can keep it for a very long time!
