How did you start the Wing ?
Noa : ' I tried the Wing for the first time a year ago, my father had bought a Wing. I didn't immediately get hooked and but the time I saw that he was going out on the water in conditions where I couldn't go out windsurfing so I started to borrow his equipment. At the end of the first confinement I really got hooked and we were on the water almost every day.'
Sylvain : Obviously, I was already fully equipped in surf/Sup foil. The first videos of Mr. Robby Naish with his wing were like a bomb. At that moment, I understood that I was going to multiply my sessions by 2. In fact, even better, now I can almost ride every day.
Where are you sailing ?
Sylvain : “I have the luxury of living 300m walk from the sea, so my home spot is La Ciotat when the wind is South/East and Les Leques by Mistral. But I go to all the spots around Marseille from Carro to La Coudoulière like all the wave hunters in the area ;-)”
Noa : “ I sail very often in Le Brusc, you can sail there in many different conditions with swell in the mistral and flat in the east wind”
What are your favorite sailing conditions ?
Noa : “ I really like sailing in a well-established 15-knot wind with a little swell to be able to take off easily, send tricks and surf the swell without having too much wind in the wing.”
Sylvain : “ Side off wind with large well-organized sets of waves :-)
More seriously, I learned to appreciate the onshore side/on wind and the chaotic conditions because here we are served! But this is where the magic of the Foil operates! A session that would have been really mediocre in kite surfing or windsurfing, can turn into a perfect session thanks to the foil. If in addition you add a wing, the freedom of movement on the spot becomes total and all that remains is to go and select the best waves offshore.
What are your favorite figures ?
Noa: “ I really like the 360/backloop, you can land this figure with speed and by taking a little more height than the others, the feeling is crazy. And I like to do a 360 starting with inverted feet and try to add a rotation against the sail once landed .”
Sylvain : At the moment I enjoy doing airs when I'm backside surfing, tapping my lip, taking off and landing in the wave. The feeling is incredible. My Air 360° are starting to gain height.
At the moment, I'm fine-tuning my transitions in tack on both sides and in switch. With Noa, we work on the backflip, quite terrifying but it will pass!
What do you think of the new Comet SW?
Sylvain : "I love this Board! Recently I've been switching to smaller and smaller Boards to end up on a 27-litre surfboard. I felt like I was gaining in maneuverability and control without having to carry a board. too bulky.
With the comet SW, the sensations are very close to a surf-type board, thanks to its ultra-compact and perfectly proportioned shape, but with a buoyancy that facilitates all maneuvers, even the most radical ones.
In freestyle it is the ideal board it turns in all directions without inertia and its volume allows you to land all the tricks without sinking.
In surfing its shape allows the tightest curves its volume is forgotten.
In short, it's my everyday board, I also use it a lot in SUP foil paddling for these same qualities."
What do you think of the new Comet S-PRO?
Noa : I really like this new board, it widens the range of use of the Wing, you can take it out in strong winds then in jumps and when surfing you feel like you have nothing on your feet. I also use it in surf foil, you get up easily with or without straps.
