Hi Lilian, Noa! How were the conditions in Fuerteventura?
Hi ! It was crazy. We had dream conditions, wind, waves, sun. Everything you need to send and make beautiful images.
What are the best spots for winging?
We were basically in Corralejo, the spot is really perfect and not too complicated to do everything. We had good waves that rolled well, both ways, so no problem if you were goofy or regular.
Can you explain your sets up to go riding in Corralejo?
We were both with the Trix, a 4'5 45L and a 4'6 54L. It is perfectly optimized for easy waterstarting, and thanks to its triple concave the take off is fast and efficient. The hollow deck combined with the extreme rigidity of the board allows optimal control and super responsiveness in waves and jumps. It's the perfect board for spots like Corralejo!
In foil we were on the S800 and S1000. They offer super incisive carving while remaining manageable. It is also super responsive to be able to send in freestyle and land well serenely thanks to their good rigidity and solidity.
And finally in wing we had the Wing V2 in 4m and 5m. It's the perfect wing for Fuerte, light, compact and super efficient. Whatever the conditions of the day, it remains super comfortable. She is also super healthy in maneuvers, which is very important when you want to quickly make a tack or a jibe before catching a wave.
What to do when there is no wind in Fuerteventura?
What is good in fuerteventura is that there are almost always waves. So during windless days, we surf foiled or pumped with the new Pocket!
Have you discovered any nice restaurants or bars for dinner and/or a drink after a day in the water?
I would say the Citrus Surf Café, just off the main street in Corralejo, around the corner from the "corner rock bar". It's the best place to relax after a session. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes with many options for vegetarians or for meat lovers. After that there are plenty of other great options with a very good atmosphere.
Do you have any tips for accommodation on the island?
Fuerte is full of super nice surfer camps, not too expensive and close to the spots, it's great! We don't necessarily have tips but we know that there is always a good atmosphere in these camps. Afterwards, there are also plenty of very beautiful hotels for more comfort.
What is the best time of year to come?
To have big conditions you should rather come between December and May, but overall there are always good conditions throughout the year. To begin, on the other hand, it is preferable to come in summer when the waves are smaller and less powerful.
