Clément Hamon finished 2nd in race and 3rd in freestyle during the first stage of the 2022 Youth Wing Foil World Cup.
He is one of the youngest talents on the GWA tour. We are proud to have him join our team of athletes.
Clément, could you introduce yourself in a few words?
Hi, my name is Clément Hamon, I'm 14 years old and I live in Saint Brevin les pins in the 44
At what age did you start the Wing?
I started Wingfoil when I was 12 years old.
What equipment do you choose for freestyle, racing, surfing and finally dockstarting?
In freestyle as in race I use the Trix with the wing v2, the H 750 and the stab s370. In surf foil the Slate 3'11, the H 900 with the C 400 stab. In the dockstart the pocket 110 + the H900 with the S400 stab are the perfect combo for me.
What is your favorite figure and the one that can earn you the most points in competition?
My favorite figure is the 720 back loop, I haven't had the opportunity to do it in competition yet, because I just learned it, but it's the one that scores the most points.
Do you have any advice for those new to freestyle?
Have suitable equipment such as a trix and a rigid wing with a small wingspan. Once equipped, start with the basic figures like the raley and the 360. After that, it's just a story of repetition until success.
What is your favorite spot?
My favorite spot and my home spot because there can be any type of body of water, flat as well as big swells, it's a spot where you can progress very quickly and it's 5 minutes from my college !
