Hello Laurent, Can you tell us about this session?
We were expecting a storm that was to reach northern Normandy. The depression moved further north and the gusts did not ultimately exceed 30 knots.
What conditions are you looking for?
I am looking for extreme conditions. My ideal session: peak winds between 40 and 45 knots with the flattest possible body of water between the waves to use them as a springboard and practice Big Air and Megaloops.
When did you start Kiteloops?
I started my first kiteloops in North Brittany on the Sainte Marguerite spot 4 years ago. It's very impressive the first few times because you don't really know what will happen once you start. The slightest error or imbalance and it's a guaranteed crash. It takes a lot of practice to master the loops and deal with fear.
Do you have any advice for those who would like to get started?
You must first master the jumps, this is the first step . Then you have to practice doing downloop jumps, an essential maneuver for landing a loop.
It is best to start with a small wing: favor 7 or 8. The new Furia with 3 battens will be perfect because it is very stable and turns very quickly, which will allow you to progress quickly. The Furia is also smooth in the bar, so there will be no unpleasant surprises when looping.
It is also necessary to visualize the rotation before the jump. Once the loop is launched and you pull on the bar, above all do not let go before the end of the rotation.
